Hello All,

Well, I've finally gotten all my stuff together and have been out a couple of times.  So much fun, I'm working on getting all my friends involved.  Only thing is that just about every time I'm out I manage to lose something..... First my flashlight, if you find one at SWS probably mine.  Lost that diving for my mask I dropped that I only found by seeing the camo snorkel.  Lot of good camo does I thought to myself.  Second dive I managed to get a really nice rocky!  My first, and super stoked.  Thought I put it in the catch bag but when we got in, gone. Guess the seagulls got my dinner that day.  Then my buddy lost a fin.  Dove Friday, out at Otters and saw a lot of fish.  Nothing worth spearing but had fun diving around.  That time lost my fish holder and one of our boards floated away.  My buddy with the big balls swam out the quarter mile to retrieve it.  Thought all was good at the end of that till I got home and noticed one of my 3 lb weights was missing from my weight belt.  What the F#%c...  Will it ever end??  I'm having a blast but if this keeps up its going to bankrupt me.
  Happy hunting.

Everybody donates......everybody.
The more you get used to doing it and figure things out the less you will donate.
Those who donate the most usually have a yard sale and do it all at once.
Good preparation entering and exiting the surf will help to minimize your donation during a yard sale.

Confused??? This will help explain:

Not to worry, it happens to damn near everyone.  Like everyone else said, preparation and experience will eventually minimize losses.

I call it the Ocean Exchange Program.  To date I have exchanged:

1 pole spear
2 pairs of sunglasses
1 glove
1 5 lb soft weight
1 crab gauge

for:

1 weight belt
2 abalone gauges
2 abalone bars

my son lost a nice squeeze lock knife at SWS, his actual spear shaft at otter.  While fishing I have lost glasses, hats, tackle trays, pliers, radios etc.  Consider it your contribution to the GDP of our country.

OEP program is a great way of putting it.  I have donated half of a three piece pole spear, fin, light, almost dropped the weight belt, Twice.  I have found that the more I "Pre-Trip" my gear and have a check list, the less i lose.  Hopefully you will have the same success.  WTTM

Pure talent! thats how.  Actually i should have explained better.  I bought a three piece pole spear from Ray Odor.  The size thread that he uses is not the common, so he sends an adapter for you to be able to buy a different tip from any local dive shop.  I lost the middle piece and the adapter.  But your right maff is diffekult.  Buy the way paul the boat is working out well. thanks again.
