Where is the best place to buy this kind of battery. Also is the recharger a seperate item or can you get them together?

I got a sealed 7.5Ah battery at Frys for $27.  Its the best FF battery I have had yet, holds charge really well and the terminals are very sturdy and great for mini-gator clips.  It generally lasts about 20 hours on the water with a Cuda.

Just make sure your charger has auto-shutoff.  You can destroy gelcel batteries by overcharging them.

Yes, I have proven that you can ruin a gel with overcharging!  I am just about motivated to alter my Eagle portable to gel cell. I get about 6 hours from 8 alkaline AAs. I could use rechargeable AAs but it is kind of a pain to get in & out of the holder at every use. AA chargeables need to be taken off the charger just prior to use for a full charge. My experience shows that they lose capacity quickly when waiting for use. So the use of a pigtail and external battery with leaving the possibility of installing AAs if in the boonies with no charger is the way I am currently thinking.

Batteries Plus has a variety of quality marine batteries and a very knowledgeable staff to offer advice on the best charger to go with it .   There's a difference between a motorcycle battery and a marine  battery.   The marine battery is designed to allow a longer / deeper discharge with less damage to it's plates.
When it comes to chargers, look for one that will provide a multi-level charge.  It should then idle down to a maintenance level after peak voltage is achieved.   That will prevent the battery from frying.
The deeper the discharge level with all lead acid batteries ( AGMs included )  the shorter the life cycle.   If you regularly deplete your battery voltage below 11 volts,  it's probably better to purchase a larger Ah battery to prevent that.
As with everything, you get what you pay for.    Another thing to extend your batteries life  is to put it on the charger ASAP.  leaving it discharged on a shelf is not a good thing... sulfation .

Napa auto parts has the sealed acid 12 volt 7.2ah for around 23-25 bucks. I bought my charger there also. That shuts down automatically when full charge is done.

here's the battery charger I use; kinda expensive, but I also use them on my dirt & street bikes... it has auto-trickle & auto-storage mode...
