I understand that folks want their "pound of flesh", even if it is a little macabre. But I suspect that those in charge are trying to minimize the martyrdom factor, which explains the rapid burial at sea (no gravesite to visit). Perhaps there wasn't much effort invested in capturing him alive. I'm okay with that. Perhaps it's a good time to contrast our approach, meaning less barbaric, and lots of non-combatant survivors spared from within the compound, from the tactics of the terrorists we are facing.

Simply put, he's not around any more. We did that. Quietly is fine. Probably better.

I just dont buy the argument that the picture will cause more harm than killing the SOB already did.  But, I can also live without seeing it.  I somewhat regret seeing the video and pics of Saddam, or his sons.
