I know you can no longer bring your own boat into Loch Lomond, but can you still bring your own battery and trolling motor to attach to the rental boat? They used to allow that in the past, not sure now?

Taking my 2 yr old for her first boating trip up there tomorrow..

Any insight would be much appreciated..

thx!

Don't know an answere for that.  I suspect though, probably not?  They may argue they have no way of knowing where the motors been lately?
Still pist at Santa cruz Co. for there decision that shut the lake down for us. (use of kayaks)

I'd love to know if they let you use your trolling motor. Please post back up with how your experience went. I grew up fishing that lake with my Dad. Did you ask how long if ever until they are stocking the lake with trout again? If there are any holdovers then a threaded nightcrawler is the way to go at that lake. Otherwise weightless or wacky rigged senkos for bass. The bass in this lake seem to have a higher IQ than just about anywhere else I've fished. Not an easy bass lake but there are some lunkers in there if you can figure out how to trick 'em.

Great day up there. Decided not to fish and just get my daughter comfortable. Shes hooked.

So on the motor, yes i was able to still use my own troller and battery. The troller was filthy, but all they did was ask me to remove the prop and check inside for critters. It was clean and we were on our way. Took all of 1 minute.

I saw a few bass near the docs in there beds. Trout still on hold, with no end insight. They are bummed on that.

Glad to hear the daughter is hooked.  That is awesome.  There is a pretty strong panfish population in LL if I recall.

Yeah, they haven't planted trout in several years, at least 3 I believe.  There are some jumbo bass in that lake too but they're pretty skittish.  And when you take away their number 1 diet, planter rainbows, I'm sure their not liking life either.

I, like many, were really bummed when they closed the lake to outside flotilla.  :smt010  :smt013  :smt011
