Me and my buddy Billy left the ramp @ 0700 and dropped in about 2 mile west of the jetty. Trolled towards 48/54 where we picked up our first keeper of the day. Green FBR @ 175' OTW in 270' h2o. We worked that area until we got the go home fish @ 2:10pm. 2 fished on the green FBR behind a flasher and 2 fish on the Purple Haze Hoochie behind a watermelon flasher. All fished caught between 150' - 225' OTW. We went through dozen of shakers all day so we had to worked hard for our 4 fish limit. By the end of the day, we became expert releasing shakers after shakers. None of the shakers hit the deck, we released them on the side of the boat.  We did not even touched them during the release process. Sorry for the late post but I was beat after cleaning the boat and all the fish. Sallmon filets are in the brine waiting for the smoker and the heads/tail and the rest are waiting for sinigang soup. Good luck out there and be safe.

Congrat on the salmon limits.  Heard on the radio this morning that the boats are doing well at Bodega too. Looks like it's going to be a great salmon season this year!  thanks for the report and pictures Fred.

Congrats Fred!  Thanks for the pics and report.  I have never really fished for Salmon other then accidental catch I made in the Carquinez Straits a couple of years ago.  I'm looking forward to learning how to do it from some of NCKA gang.

Wow nice salmon you got there IslandYak.  You mention sinigang and it made me hungry.  I got to go out there soon so I can make some fresh salmon sinigang.  Have you tried sinigang sa miso with salmon and mustard greens?  Did you guys use a downrigger?  How deep?

Rey, yes we always used downrigger.  We were 150' to 225' OTW (On The Wire). My mother in-law is the one that's incharge of the sinigang.

beautiful fish!!

How close were you to the harbor? Might try on the kayak Monday

But trolling at 150 ft on the kayak?? Mooching would be a better call.

yeah I read that Einstein.

I am thinking of trolling at 150 pulls but the deeper I troll, the more tired I get

so if the fish are not at 60 pulls or above... I'm thinking of mooching instead

Ojos-raros, I would not try it with the kayak yet. Still quite a way out there. Give it about another month and they should be closer inside.  On our way in, we metered lots of baitball not far from the entrance to Moss Landing. I would love to land a salmon off the kayak.
