Haven't fished much recently due to the swollen muddy waters, so I was excited to get the yak out again. I dropped by the port mid morning and fished high tide. I spent most of my time playing with my newly installed lowrance xd-90, I got it sailed in after about fifteen minutes and got some really strong reads under the bridge and out by the blue storm drain by the concrete pilings accross the lake. No takedowns, fished a rattletrap and a brokenback shad all day otw at different depths, bummer, but it looks like the fish are back in the port. Good lick to anybody who heads out this weekend, meant to post sooner in case anybody found the info useful.

I have fished the port a few times in the past earlier in the year, Feb and Mar with not luck.  I tried trolling, bait, tossing plugs.  When is the ideal time to hit the port and what is the corresponding technique? I am planning on getting out there soon and want to have some success this time around.  Thanks.
