The lakes in the MT. Tam watershed are full. The streams are still gushing. A great day for hiking with Linelle and Tessa. We hiked down the trail from Alpine Dam to the upper reaches of Kent Lake in Marin County. We saw 2 fishermen coming up from Kent with 2 huge LMB's. One over 6lbs. I would have released but whatever. Some pics. 8.5 miles roundtrip. Fun.

Dale, we saw that little skink go into its hidey-hole. I just waited it out with the camera in position. Once it was out it was just soaking up the sunshine and was prety cool if you didnt make any sudden moves. We were going to go up Cataract trail but there were a ton of folks there.

Thanks for great nature pics and the reminder about the number of people that show up on some of those trails especially on a day like tomorrow,

As an extremist coho terrorist,  I'd kill every LMB in the lake, then tear down the dam.  :smt003  Oops, now I'm in trouble.

Glad you guys had a great hike.  Nice pics.

looks like an awesome hike! i do the same thing when im out in the woods or whatever , picking up snakes & other wildlife...as a kid at i caught a gopher snake and raised it for like 6 years , it got really big and i fed it live rats, then one day it got out its cage and never seen it again, hopefully went to town on the rodents that live in the fields behind my house.

I was hiking into the back way into Muir Woods from Bootjack. Sounds like we were in the same area same day. The hike back out was quite a climb! nice to see everything so green and wet.

Great pics Craig. The little newt/salamander is cool.

Saturday had Laura & me on a 6miler in Henry Cowell Park, on the Lost Empire trail.
With the cool air the banana slugs were out in force, we counted 11 of them.
