Hobiedave, Martin and I  met up at Glen Cove Marina this morning at 8am to try out this local spot.
For me this was a double header as just the day prior I went out with BaitnbBeer, drFreck and HamachiJohn at Black pt.. so yes i was a gluton for punishment..

wierd day otw for me... things started funny from the get go.. I don't know if it was the less than friendly send off from wife...but somehow I was not in my zone...
took forever to get my yak situated.
this was a new spot for martin and I.. we needed to 2 man carry our yak to the guest launch dock...
Hobiedave was good enough to do the site scouting and secured permission from the management, and brought ramp boards to facilitate the yak carts.
Martin bought the ghost shrimp and lamprey eel..
The marina and weather was gorgeous so we had high hopes launching.. I thought I could get away fishing in shorts but later discovered there was the usual wind thru the Carquinez straight so my pants came back on..
shortening  story as its getting late...had no bites although we did mark some fish occasionally at mid level around 20 fow... we were working mostly 40' range..

the dominant event became my anchor line getting snarled on some rocks.. this fouled up fishiing line and basically kept me from being able to relocate.. Martin and hobiedave came to lend a hand as we tried to power thru the snag by combining forces in a tug of war to dislodge the anchor line.. we tried all the normal tricks of orbiting etc...but working against the flowing water and tide proved difficult..and at times I was in danger of getting rolled cuz my yak was getting turned broadside to the current.

I had all but given up hope for it and even  got to the point of having my leatherman out to cut my line... but with the change in tide I was able to finally position my yak to another angle and miraculously bounced the line free..
ironically when it came time to leave Martin ended up with the same problem with his anchor..it that too became lodged so badly we thought it was a lost cause.. After freeing that line we decided to call it quits and  considered ourselves lucky that weren't out any gear...

As usual we had our snacks and beer in the parking lot . Hobiedave furnished marinated calamari and seasoned seaweed from Costsco deli section..and Martin had a good assortment of beers...sharing a drink and snacks with a good crew is our  simple ritual, but today more than ever, it saved what would have been a mildly frustrating day otw..

Sorry no hookups for you guys with Mr. Dino. There is a spot around the area there where
you look for some clam beds and that is where you want to anchor. I think it is time for me
to put in some dino time as well. See you all soon.

Sorry to hear that you guys drew a blank; that water looked really sturgy. Not so good for the striper hardware fishing, either. I talked to you for a second; I was casting from the rocks. Ran over to the rundown house and fished those coves for nothin.
Yea that area is so snaggy; glad to hear ya got the anchor back.

Sorry to hear about the anchor snagging incidences.  Glad you guys are alright though.  I'll try to locate the clam beds area there and fish with my Loose Screws next time.

Way to get out there and start soaking some bait! I'm sure all that time you are putting in will pay off soon. I am hoping to get out this Sunday and see if I can't get my luck to change.

Thanks for posting the report Dave.  There's not really anything more to add.  A skunk is a skunk but at least it was a beautiful day on the water with good company.  It was great to fish without all of the foul weather garb for once. We'll get 'em next time.
