Mussel quarantine in effect 3-29

I was looking forward to grabbing some during the first few months in conjunction with Ab diving too. 

Better to be safe than sorry though, article suggests only eating the white meat from clams and scallops as well.

Bummer. I've only been musseling this year 3 times...not including New Zealand 

Is this law or just a recommendation?

Yeah, I went once last month but no more. 

Not sure it is law or not, but DAP and PSP poisioning aren't things I'm taking a chance with.  More info here:

It's not a law, just a suggestion. Probably best to adhere to it though, a few pounds of shellfish aren't worth your life. If you really wanted mussels it's likely that you would be ok, but IMO getting PSP isn't worth it.
