I was looking forward to grabbing some during the first few months in conjunction with Ab diving too.  :smt013

Better to be safe than sorry though, article suggests only eating the white meat from clams and scallops as well.

Bummer. I've only been musseling this year 3 times...not including New Zealand  :smt003

Is this law or just a recommendation?

Yeah, I went once last month but no more. 

Not sure it is law or not, but DAP and PSP poisioning aren't things I'm taking a chance with.  More info here:

It's not a law, just a suggestion. Probably best to adhere to it though, a few pounds of shellfish aren't worth your life. If you really wanted mussels it's likely that you would be ok, but IMO getting PSP isn't worth it.
