I was searching for an old topic to remind myself what the rainfall totals looked like the last time we had this conversation. Turns out that was Oct 2009 and the number I was looking for was 21 inches in 24hrs @ one of the Big Sur ridges...perhaps even more impressive today than it was in 2009. This was the thread btw: http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,20846.msg214170.html#msg214170

But...my search led me to a great online resource for local/regional rainfall totals.

I haven't seen the Tuolumnuemmneee this high since it flooded back in the 90s and took out the trailer homes.  so far its OK and i think they have some space left in Don Pedro and Turlock lake to prevent the flooding, but we will see what happens when the snow melt increases from the hills.  The "T" has been raging for like 2 weeks now trying to get ahead of the melt.

Nothing but Pina Coladas and sunshine here. NOT!
This was all done within the last 20 minutes and the last two photos were takes 3 minutes apart.
Seasonal creek in my backyard. It is bone dry during the summer.
Yea, I've had a couple of beers. That explains the first pic..I'm hopin'.

Wow tote, that's a lot of water. I wish my property drained that well. Add a sluice box for sure. You never know.

So you now have a lake I've only gotten just under 11" at my river place and about 9" in Santa Rosa and I thought we had a lot of rain we normally get 3-4".

I didn't get a picture whe I crossed the San  Lorenzo Bridge this evening, but it was really high.  Arana creek at the bottom of my hill was like a "raging river" acccording to my wife who hiked down for a look.

Here's the SLO USGS CFS chart for today.

I've had some heavy rain up here is cloudy Portland Oregon,  Freakin heavy at times, but usually just constant drizzles.  Al, welcome to the dark side of living in the Santa Cruz mountains :smt009.  That's some impressive water you got flowing under your deck!
Talked with my wife yesterday,  power was (probbly still is) out due to, yep, a tree down at the end of our little road up in Forest Lakes.  However what has me concerned was she told me that live wires were down sparking in the streets standing rain runoff, and the freaking pole was ON FIRE! Apparently Felton fire was on sceen (Not a fire truck)  so I have no idea of when power will be back up for her :smt009
She called PG & E befor the power died due to many "Brown outs" and they told her to shut off all the breakers for the house, which she did, I just hope our stove's electronics wern't damaged.  TV and associated electronics are protected by UPS.  Needless to say, she's a little upset.
June 15th can't come quick enough!
