Help i might be in need of an intervention...I'm seriously looking at trolling motor set-ups for my yak. not as a replacement to paddling but to extend range and provide some ease when trolling, etc.

My experience with the franken-bike electric commuter has tainted me i think.

Looks like i can easily rig it to use the rudder mounts on the prowler...i can pull it up paddle out to the grounds, but not waste energy trolling around out there...more range, less effort.

Talk me off the ledge

Salt and Trolling motors don't mix
Don't forget to install a deadman switch
Buy a Hobie instead or just get a PB oh yea that's what you will have.
You will have to registor it.
Mooch will never fish with you

To each her own.   :smt003

Dude, seriously?  Trolling is like walking.  Are you getting a walker too?

Good luck with your trolling motor if you get it, but I hope you remain a paddler.   :smt001

Steve, bro, WTH is you thinking?!  If you are that hardup for handsfree trolling, you can borrow my Hobie Adventure for the whole month of April and get it outta your system.  You can pick it up at Aquatic Park or EC3 this Friday.  With the mileage you've got in your legs, you'll be too busy looking at your bulging quads to complain about my sketched out electronics.   :smt044  Seriously, holler if you interested

I saw some guys at Comanche with trolling motors rigged up. It just looks like neither fish nor foul. I'd get a PB before adding a motor to my yak.

The Hobie suggestions aren't bad as an alternative. I took my Tarpon out last week after a couple months of neglect, and it was like going home. But for added range and trolling my Revo does the job.

I guess i though the EFFORT was part of the fun. Why not just have a Power boat, you could really go far then  :smt003

Dude.....  :smt005

Just think about paying for registration every year on top of your fishing license! Plus the pain of rigging a trolling motor on a regular yak, charging batteries, the extra weight and cost of a motor and batteries.

I think if you're really looking for more range you could get a Hobie Adventure w/turbo fins for less than a trolling motor, or you could go for the Adventure Island!

Whatever you choose, even if it's a trolling motor, your NCKA family will still love you.  :smt044  :3some:

Add a Hobie to the fleet with the P-15 Steve - you can paddle and pedal the Hobie giving you extended range, more trolling options, and the ability to hold in current while casting for stripers. No PB hassles. My 2-cents.

mostly i'm cracking up...but it does/did help

I'd love a Hobie AI, but not the divorce that would come with it! F those things are expensive...

Craig-- If i can get on the bike on Friday i can join you on sunday, else I HAVE to ride (can't you see i'm losing it, and the only thing that will reset is some serious suffering?)
