I set 2 traps last night at Doran off the end of the north jetty.   The usual bait drumsticks, squid and salmon scraps.  Pulled them this morning at 7:30 for 1 keeper.  So much for an over night soak.  Lots of females and small males.

No wind at all perfect conditions.  Rebaited the traps and added a ring setup.  Took about 3 hours of setting and pulling every 20 minutes to get my limit.  The ring produced more crab than the traps.  Biggest crab was maybe 6.5.

I know pictures are cool but not sure how to get them to the post.

Great day to be on the water!!!!!!

I experienced the same thing last time I was there!  Congrat on the limit and thanks for the report Doug.

Not too bad, really. They made you earn it but you got a limit - good work.

I was out there Sunday for a few hours & didn't pull any keepers, although I had crappy bait & wasn't exactly putting a whole lot of effort into it. Was just happy to be back in the yak after 2 months. Excellent conditions Sun as well, other than a little rain.

Saw Spike leaving as I was just going in the gate & he'd pulled 5 or 6 keepers from two traps soaked overnight. Seems the crawl is a little better during daytime out there.

Good going on the dungies Doug. Three hours of crabbing and having your limits is not bad at all.
