Any suggestions for places that do kayaking lessons in the San Mateo area?

I took my lessons in the petaluma river... I mean the south bay.... or was it the north bay I can't remember anymore?  :smt001

Oh did you mean last weekend or last last weekend.  Ha Ha  :smt044

Seriously though I'm not sure on the lessons. Maybe Aquan sports in redwood city would be a good place to try.

I think one of the guys teaches a surf launch class at MBK in Monterey.

If you want, I can bring 2 yaks to Foster City lagoon & you can wet your feet there.

Fairly straightforward, but classes are not a bad idea.

Shoot me a PM if you want to head out; I'm local in SM too.

Will do fuzz. Appreciate the offer, greatly. Ever do any shore stuff, by chance?

Shore stuff!!!  BAH!!!!  :smt044  Once you go YAK you never go BACK!  Don't make Craig talk about heaving bosom's again  :smt005 :smt005

OK, well I do do some shore stuff.  I like to stream fish for trout and do some perching from shore, but that's about it!   :smt002

There are some books out there too!  Not as useful as direct instruction, but cheap and gets you heading in the right direction.  I have two, somewhere, that if I can find, i'll gladly give to you!  :smt003

LOL yeah yeah...

Whatever you do, do not get quality instruction before heading off the coast.
Whatever you do, do not support your local kayak dealers
Whatever you do, laugh off folks that are giving you good advice.

Do tell, what's your opinion on clothing for kayakfishing?

Oh no ScottThornley, not laughing bout that. Definitely looking into Aquan, and not even thinking bout heading outside. Never even crossed my mind, actually.  And I appreciate all advice given. Ahh, private joke thing I suppose, wasn't being a smartass.
I was thinking speedos and spandex, but I'm a total noob so correct me if my choice of attire is inappropriate.
Thanks Scott!

AlsHobieOutback, thats a great idea! No wonder I didn't think of it. I bet my local librarys got a couple books on yakking, I'll look into that too. Thanks dude!
