Got to the lake with the kids around 7, picked a spot away from the combat fishing to set up. I hooked a fish right away, and let my boy reel it in. It was about 2 pounds. My daughter catches one shortly after, then another one on the next cast! Both dfg planters, about a pound. Then, the crowd descended on us. I was so pissed! There was literally fifty feet on both sides of us, and they had to crowd us by fishing five feet next to us, casting across us. We lost four or five fish after that because we were tangled up. I started cutting lines when we reeled in a rat nest, and guys were mad, and I just told them to move over a little bit, that the fish will swim by them! By noon, we had enough, and packed it up with four fish. The kids had a descent time, but I was shaking with anger due tot he lack of respect the gang banger crowd to the right of us showed, and the Russian crowd to the the left of us showed. Seriously, if you see four rods out, and two kids fishing them, wouldn't you give them at least six feet room when there was fifty to each side void of fishermen? Pretty pathetic, and I take grace in remembering this is one of the reasons why I started kayak fishing, to get away from the crowds and find some solitude.
Rant off.

Too bad this has to happen.  You handled it well.  I had a similar experience with my son years ago.  We packed up and moved 50 yards down the shoreline form the idiots who crowded us and started catching just as many fish away from the crowd----you guessed it they all headed down to where we moved----SO we just went back to our original spot and laughed our asses off at their stupidity.  Had they been the least bit respectful I would have showed them what they were doing wrong but----their loss!!-----Jeff

Nice job getting the kids on some trout Rich - WTG!   I hear ya on the rude people, I can't even fish around crowds any more.

Did you see or hear any reports on SMBs or LMBs from Pardee?

Thanks for the report Rich and props for keeping your anger in check. Always amazes me how much people crowd in to others catching fish don't think it's exclusive of any group just human nature/rudeness. Was the water clear or murky?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Did ya get any video of the boat launch???  :smt044
That is the exact reason I stopped fishing Nimbus. Too many rude people.
You're a better man than I.
Last time I was at Nimbus I got tangled with a guy. He reeled in super fast and cut my line and went right back to fishing. No words, no apologies, not even a glance.
After I knocked his @$$ in the water I swore off combat fishing forever.

You're a good man Rich for not showing your anger. Yeah, that was the main reason I gave up on shore fishing and started kayakfishing instead. To get away
from the crowd. WTG on taking your kids fishing with you bro. See you soon.

Thanks guys, yeah it gets frustrating. I didn't hear of any smb or lmb caught. I tried calling out to guys on the radio, but no responses. The water was fairly clear, not like it usually is though, but I could see trout swim by out to about 15' from shore.  I plan on heading back up there after this next round of storms to kayak fish and target the bass. Tote, I did see one guy let his boat go and drift out away from the dock! The look on his face was priceless! Another guy in  a boat pulled it back in for him.  :smt044

Brutal!
Glad your kids got on some fish anyway :smt002
Combat fishing should be for adults only!
I try to boycott areas that can become infested with "fishermen", (unless they are on yaks :smt044)
Last time I was there (1970's) it seemed like a clean place.
