Alright homies, here is the report from yesterday.  I started out at the butterfly house with rick.  (kid is a stud).  we were out there for about three hours. Water was clear, but was very surgy.  I shot a 15" perch there.  Rick can you confirm that?  Rick pulled a nice little MFE out of there along with a couple of rockies.  We loaded up the gear and headed to SWS to check out the action up there.  Porky and Big Jim were slated to meet us so I was stoked about that.  We arrived out at SWS around noon and me and rick headed out.  Good Visibility and amazing fish were out.  Spearo of the day was definitely rick.  As he was working on an eel that he had found i noticed a big ball of white inside a crack with a marble green color laying over the top.  I dive down and bingo.  MONKEY FACED EEL!  and i said "look here monkey face! you are lower on the food chain, its nothing personal" so i take aim with the paralyzer tip and bam direct shot.  He was wiggling around in the hole and as i gently tried to extract the beast he came off.  i waited till the water was cleared up again to take my second shot.  same result.  so i tell rick he should take a shot at it and see if the flopper tip worked out better, but it did not.  rick ended up pulling him out with a paralyzer tip and had to dig is hand way back in the cave to be successful.  I told you guys... STUD.  so after that we headed in because it had been a long day and the seal escorts that were constantly on top of us was making fishing a bit difficult.  All in all it was a great day.  I got my two cabbies and big props to alameda for hooking us up with his fish at the end of the day as he didnt bring a cooler.   I will have pictures up later tonight but they are only before and after shots.  I know im lame and need to get a cool camera that i can take out with me.  It is next on the agenda.  Until next time.

Thanks, Hotplate! Great diving with you out there, and thanks for spotting the eel.
That black perch you shot at Butterfly House was a nice one. Going to SWS in the afternoon was well worth it though. Can't wait for next time!

NICE work fellas, and KILLER report!!

Darrel, we saw your rig in the parking lot, but I guess you had already hit the water!! :smt005

Saw some yaks all together in one spot, but there was an area that I have been eyeing for a loooooong time and it called my name too loudly and I had to bee-line over there instead!!

 :smt005

Next time bro!!

Excellent job Rick...those eels are delicious IMHO and my wife is always super excited when I bring one home...no dirty jokes guys!!  :smt002 :smt005 :smt044

Congrats again and look forward to diving with both of you soon!!

Sincerely,

Jim

I did, indeed. I found that I could only stay in the water about 2 hours with my old one, before I got too cold to hold my breath very long or move around very easily. So I looked into an open cell suit and found this one at a very good price. The difference was noticeable immediately. Almost no water movement at all in the suit, and I was able to dive for 3 hours at Butterfly House and then another 2 later on without getting cold. It was also very flexible and easy to move around in. I'm planning on letting one of my friends use my older suit when he is ready to try diving.

Awesome Rick, that's the same suit I use.  ;)

Best suit I've used as far as flexibility & warmth.   :smt004

Omer 3D Camo, 7mm.

I've been using it for the last several months or so... love it!

Really, any open cell should work as long as it fits fine.  The neoprene & jersey of this suit is just so flexible that it conforms to your body more readily than stiffer grades of neoprene and/or stiffer nylon jersey material.
