shark_bait and I attempted to dive SWS.  The beach didn't exist, covered with thick dead kelp.  Small shore dump, lumpy seas and the passage to the right had swells rolling through, the largest breaking at times.

We opted to go around the island and get close to the point.  I still can't figure out why the water was so messed up.  Washing machine, chop one way, swell another, current yet another.  We finally made it to our desired depth and got started.  In 20 feet I could make out the bottom, but lots of "snow" in the water, and very surgy.  I couldn't line up a shot with the pole spear spinning around like that.  Shark_bait got a half limit of blues so no one will go hungry tonight  :smt004

On a side note I picked up some sharkshields and this was their maiden voyage.  I already managed to shock myself as did shark_bait.  Going to take some getting used to...

How are you getting shocked?  If you are getting shocked when you invert for a dive and the antenna falls down and zaps you, I may have a solution that could help avoid it.

An old dive buddy of mine was getting shocked as he inverts on a steep dive, so he came up with a solution.  He took a piece of PVC tube about 2" long and slit it longitudinally so it can slip onto the fin and hold the antenna in place.  That basically made part of the antenna be attached to the fin and what's left over (part after the PVC) isn't long enough to flop down and shock him.

both our shocks were in the kayak.  We had just put them on our ankles and powered up.  The end of the whip was in the water, but I am pretty sure we touched the top part of the whip where the second electrode I assume is.  As it wasnt in the water, we made the bridge.  BZZZZZZ

But cool idea for when I get more vertical!
