This story isn't particularly newsworthy IMO, but the last line of the article is priceless.

Why on earth would a couple go kayaking on an English lake in the middle of February?

I was once fishing on the some docks along the Colorado River out of Parker, AZ when I was a kid and watched some sort of huge fish kick out a wake that rocked the dock... scared the heck out of me.

AOTY would be a bloodbath here; people are obsessed with the number of species they can catch in a year. Their signatures all contain lists of their species-to-date.
