Shot A mixed bag of fish but nothing exciting... I shot and missed what have been my biggest speared fish to date! :smt010..CABZILLA!.... What an awsome fish! I saw a pic of Pebble Beach in the sports section this morning from yesterday and the ocean was flat ass calm. I was thinking about you diving machines. Pics? We will wait. Not for long though. :smt003

Truly an awesome day.  Can't wait to go out there again and do more exploring.  To many good structures to explore in one day

Okay - tired as hell and finally enjoying a beer! I have to say that today was definitely another epic day. A new spot and a great group of guys to explore it with. We hit the water around 9am or so and probably didnt get out untill around 2pm, then went back in for the cabbie Haill Mary for another hour or two. BaitnBeer managed to pull a cabbie clencher in the last round. All in all we collectively caught just about everything on the menu out there today. Big Jim came through with another patent Monkey face eel extravaganza. Fishmaster cleaned up with a nice medley of the usual suspects to gift to those that like MFPerch. BaitnBeer and I explored the depths and managed some really nice blues/blacks, but no verms in sight. I think we were all able to see a nice ling today, in one place, hole, boulder or another. I checked out with my limit for the day.  Just an awesome day.

Oh and before I forget, it was nice meeting you out on the water Hotplate. Way to push it and venture all the way out to the abyss to greet BaitnBeer and I. For a newbie that some cajones'.

Also - forgot to mention that it was also finally nice to meet and dive with Sincerly Jim too-

Okay on with some fish porn - Ill try to get them up tonight. Keep in mind my camera crapped out last outing and I just got it back. Unfortunately, its working half ass, and stuff seems washed out, but you get the idea. Also, some vids may drag out, sorry about that too, as Im not a vid editing savvy guy.

Almost forgot, the viz was about 15 to 20' hazy in the 40 to 50' range, and crystal in the 10 to 15' shallows today. Not much swell if any, but a pronounced westerly undertow like current in the deep, 200 yards from the butterfly houses last rocky point.

cheers,

Geoff

Great conditions, great guys....what more could you ask for!   :smt004

Had a tough week and needed some underwater anger management therapy....feel much better now!!  :smt003

Spot was BEAUTIFUL, but the fishies were playing hide and seek and almost everyone I saw was holed up.

Managed to score a fat 28 inch MFPB and 8 medium rockies.

HAD a nice cabbie on the spear, but he managed to thrash in his cave so much he wedged the shaft to where I could not get it out.  :smt009  Found a side hole where I could see into his hole and saw he was shot broadside and the flopper was engaged and eveything...could reach into the side hole and push him a little to unjam the shaft, but then he would spaz again and jam it before I could go the main entrance and pull him out!!   :smt013

Finally managed to work him free, but then in all the effing around somehow the flopper closed and when I pulled the shaft out it slid right out of him and he darted out and away!!   :smt013 :smt013 :smt013 :smt010 :smt010

Oh well...at least I got my shaft back!
 :smt002 :smt005 :smt044

Forgot my camera, so just a few pics of carnage at home.

Sincerely,

Jim

ps...anybody know how big Kirk's world record MFPB was??? This one today was a frikkin toad!!!  :smt005
