Kayak Angler Magazine, Spring issue.
The print edition is coming out this week.  The online edition has an article titled, "Fish Hunted.  Adam Coca's close call."
I'm surprised they didn't edit the word "fu*k" out of the article.   :smt005

If they did then Adam will get mad, besides what other world can describe encounters like that, FU#K

He could have just as easily said, "Oh shoot. That big fish is going to damage my kayak. Darn! "  :smt044  :smt044  :smt044  :smt044

you need a subscription to read the digital version, or pay $2.  I couldn't copy the article b/c it's flash.

I want to personally and publicly thank Adam for sharing his story. Likewise NCKA's own Allen Bushnell for an outstanding job. Many NCKA members who fish the Bean offered their perspectives.

I'm hopeful we handled a sensational topic with honesty, integrity, and sensitivity. If we missed in any way, I expect to hear it.

The issue has only just hit the newsstand. We'd like to sell a few so we can continue to grow the publication from last year's two issues, this year's three and hopefully soon four. It isn't about profit, its about keeping the lights on so we can serve the greater kayak fishing community with thoughtful features like this one or the recent celebration of a certain Leepin's AOTY win. We pay our writers and photographers for their hard work, because we are striving for excellence.

Once our next issue prints in early summer, I'll be happy to post the story. Also, there's an easy way to get a free Kayak Angler digital subscription. Take part in one of the many competitions we sponsor through the Kayak Angler Tournament Network. Those sponsorships are free to the organizers.

PAL and company:

Don't know how I missed this thread for a week...

Thank you Paul, for allowing me to contribute to the article.  It was fun and challenging, a new level of journalism for me.  Pro.  You're a great guide and editor, Paul.

I can 't wait to see the copy you're sending me (copies? One for me, one for my mother).

Adam, let's go fish the Bean together in June.....

We had a successful GWS lecture/presentation up at UCSC a week or two ago, and we have another that will be scheduled first week of April, evening during the week for anyone interested.   Sean Van Sommeran from the Pelagic Shark Research Foundation.

The more we know about these predators, the safer we can be.  A lot of the anxiety is uneccesary and a lot of the "clueless" may be taking risks when they shouldn't have to.

And, finally as Danglin says  "....So Glad were able to laugh about this..."
