Hello everyone. I am new to kayak fishing. I have a humminbird 385ci fish finder. and a tarpon 140 kayak .  I am thinking about exchanging the mount transducer the humminbird came with for a thru hull transducer. Which would be a better transducer for a tarpon 120 or tarpon 140.

i use a through hull on my tarpon 160.  Seems to work pretty good.  make sure you mount it in a spot in the  hull where no air collects.  I originally mounted mine too far forward and on choppy days it wouldn't read well.

Theres tons of stuff on fish-finders on this site if you do a search.  We've had that conversation way more than once.

Welcome aboard Acudamacada  :smt006  Check out the "Gearing Up" section, you'll find tons of info to pimp up your kayak there.
