 Dungees are still out there.

BML and myself met at HMB Kayak at 7:15 am and at our first drop in 40  fow at 8:30am. Somehow, we could not wait for Darius who initiated the crabbing hookup. He later hailed at ch69 that he got called in to work.

Was suprised to see that there were already a few surfers that early in the day. Visibility was about a quarter mile as the fog was heavy early morning. So bml and myself stayed away from boat paths and was always ready with our paddle and whistle just in case.

1st pull was not good as there were lots of undersize dungees. At 2nd drop site, got 2 keepers. Another pull at the 2nd drop point again yielded 3, so as Chuck E says, once you find a productive area, bombard it so off we go to that drop point and just hover around the area for quite some time. Got my limit of dungees at 11:30 with another 10 rockies to add to the haul.

Not bad for 3 hours of crabbing. BML got his share for the day but learned a crabbing secret that I would rather have him share it than me. So Ramsey, please share that secret so others may benefit as well. The "Buffet" thing.

Oh by the way, I did not know that it is Ramsey's birthday today until he mentioned it when we were back at the launch site. So "Happy Birthday" to you Ramsey. May you have many more to come.

It was a joy being with you OTW especially on your birthday.

Here's a few pictures I've taken after reaching home at 1:10pm:

And of course, some TLC to my ride:

Chaeki,

Just watch out for that guy on the small dingy. He travels at night even without lights and  he's the only suspicious guy that maybe pulling in traps that may not be his own.

Happy bday Ramsey and Glen!!  :occasion13: Hope both of you were treated with wonderful gifts and surprises.

Danny, thanks for the report brother! I'm sorry that I couldn't join y'all, as I would have loved. While you guys were nailing em, I am here working and reading everyone's posts. Wtg on nailing your limit, and I hope that next time we can get em together :D

Darius, bummer to hear that ya had to paddle back in for work especially when you haven't been otw for awhile. I've had to back out couple times from fishing trips due to work :smt013 Thas why I rarely posts hookups since many of my trips are last minute deals. Although I rarely posts hookups, I'm always looking out for others to see if I can join in :D

Thanks again for sharing your report!!

Glad you still able to catch them in the shallow water.  I read on another report that they're moving out to the deep for awhile and return later this month.  Thanks for the report and pictures Danny.

Darius,

Real bomber! We didn't hear your hail. Ramsey n I were probably at the mouth by that time. It was so foggy out there that we were paddling close to the jetties so we won't be run over by boats.
Wished you were with us. You're so full of energy all the time that's why you're so fun to be with.
Don't you worry. We can go out again next time.

Wished I could have made it.  But having to finish the painting and crown molding in the upstairs bedroom.  Getting ready to work on the power boat for a paint job.
