Ok... I am real happy with my Hobie Quest (then again I just got into the SOTs recently and love it); however, all the new tech is killing me. I was at the ISE in Sac this last week and going by Kayak Adventures display was almost too much. I was like a kid in the candy store. There was one new one there, that I can not remember the model. Was hoping maybe someone could remember the one along the outside that was just designed. Very cool. And then there are the big questions Pedal vs. Paddle. 13" or 15" Looking at a 2011 13' Trident now? There was also one inside at the Sportmans den store display that was very cool. And I can not remember that one either. Wow, fun stuff. What's your choices out there? :smt007

I have rocked the 2011 Trident for 5 months now and love it! No complaints.

I've been very happy with the P-15, T-15 and T-11.

Would like to add a Revo to the fleet for the pedaling option to deal with wind and fast drifts, and a few other tricks.

Are you in a 15" or 13" Trident. I weight ~200 lbs and about 6'1". You have enough leg room. I found the new one I saw at the show, Ultra 4.7 on the OC website. Anyone out there in one yet? Seems it is ~$400 more. I wonder if it's worth it?  :smt001

What's the big dif in the T15 vs P15?  I think I am going to end out with a fleet if I do not watch out.  :smt001

I'm in a T-13 and I'm 185lbs and 6'2". There is plenty of leg room my suggestion for us tall people is forget about the scupper hole transducer other wise with your legs all the way out your heal will be in the transducer/ wire. I have mine gooped inside the hull and still have to dial down the sensitivity. Plenty of leg room and Plenty of weight capacity!

Yes, that Ultra at ISE is mine.  they are still a bit hard to get, being shipped from New Zealand, whaich also affects the price.  that, and the fact they come stock with a rudder.

I am super excited about this boat, it seems to have welded the better aspects of the Trident15 the prowler15, and believe it or not, the Scupper Pro, which was OK's first, and fastest yak.

I'm waiting on some acsesories, and I'll do a big review and install thread with pics as soon as I can.

Short version, the deck layout is the best yet, with flip rod pod lid, greatly improved drainage everywhere. I paddled a little on Saturday, out the Santa Cruz harbor and into a slight chop and maybe 6kt wind.  Handled really well, not sure if it's faster than my T15 but I will be able to tell once I get the gps installed.  Turns well, tracks well, takes chop beautifully no slap whatsoever on a short 1-2 foot windswell.

I do have to get new cradles for my racks.  the stock thule paddles are oilcanning the bottom of my boat.  It all pops back out, but I'd rather not have it.  Might go with the Malone wing-thingies.

Anyone who wants to Demo this in Santa Cruz, just let me know.  I can even provide a P15 and a T15 for comparisons, haha

Allen - looking forward to hearing more about how the Ultra performs.

Dave - the P-15 is a great paddling boat.  The T-15 paddles well too, just not as good as the P-15.  I have really grown to appreciate the rod pod for easily storing gear, and the sonar shield for stowing the FF, on surf launches/landings. Only negative on the T-15 is that it weathercocks in a crosswind. Can be improved with a rudder. There are some more past posts on this site comparing these 2 boats from when the T-15 first became available, if you're looking for more info.
