i gotta say..today was a good day-ice cube

one of those days where everything just worked out for the better , it started with dude at the gate not charging us the entrance fee " its on me today buddy" what a guy!, we didnt even have to park at the side parkenlot today , they had construction over there for the event next week so we got to park at the gym , i get to the beach and while im watching the breakers between the rocks it suddenly just goes flat! unreal!
i shoot the shit for a sec with guys from another club untill geoff rolls up, after suiting up we take off , decided to try some different areas at first , ddove in to find a sandy bottom with huge boulders here and there , not to fishy , geoff was up to his old tricks and nails a grassy right off the batt, few more dives and we decide we want to hunt somewhere else , we end up working some deeper kelp beds in around 40 to 45 feet. viz was 40 feet! we found schools of blues with other assorted rockfish , shot about half a limit  then went to finish the day off in the rocky shallows, here we easily found our limits & fulfilled an order of some perch for geoffs freinds  , we also got a cabbie each ,  geoffs cabbie was actually pretty big ,maby 22 inches plus! just a great day all n all, i even made good time getting back home in time for a co-workers going away function.
 untill next time guys!

Nice Job out there.  Thats some crazy good visibility you had.  You were working kelp beds in 40-45', thats some gangster shit right there, thats deep as hell.  Darell and I are hitting it up on Wednesday if you can make it out.

Awesome job out there Andy, so stoked that you and your buddy did well :D Can't believe that they let ya in through the gates free! I've tried to pull so many excuses/chi-chats to get through free, but it never worked lol. Are ya paying them with fish bc I was told by them before that a guard got fired for accepting fish as token of free entrance :P

Wtg tho on your outing, hope to see you and George soon my brother :D

Jealous  :smt012
I was watching the swell reports and thought that the swells are still pretty high. So the ocean flattened out just like that? Sounds like a great day. Thanks for the report!!!

Been swamped with work and plagued with camera malfunctions -

As Andy stated the conditions were epic once again, and although it was a tad windy from the get go and the tide high on the beach, we figured, what the hell. Any day is a good day, as long as you get in the water and make the best of it. Anyways, we saw a bunch of Triton members, maybe five or so, that were working the shallows around the Island in the mid point. Hah - I said shallows, never thought Andy and I would be venturing past that damn Island and diving around the Pinnacle, super awesome I tell yah. So yeah, they were in the shallows and we were diving near where a scuba boat was dropping people overboard for their certs, literally 100 yards from our honey hole. The water layed down after about an hour and it was kind of eerie to say the least. Once that happened, it just got real fishy, and everywhere you went fish were there.

I have to say, Andy has really started to impress me, he's getting down there deep, and were checking out the scenery and potential targets in spots 50 plus foot deep. Its amazing how fast you sink, and how you have to literally crawl around as your body feels contorted from the weights around your mid section anchoring you down. I wish my camera was working better, but I suppose the 30' limit was imposed for a reason. Ive been taking it deeper attached to the gun, and well, water has definately started to mess with the internals. But at any rate, I still took some pics and managed one measely video. Ill try and get them on here in a bit. Id say most of the pics are literally a photo shoot of Andy, since Im always hogging the cam. So make sure you have your runway music playing as soon as you start viewing them! lol

Okay - gotta get to the pics, but first need to make my camera work -- will be back in a bit!
