Just called lawsons landing and they mentioned the next lowtide is this sat at 2:55pm -0.3.  So I plan to head up there and try some clamming for the 2011.  I just hope the wind doesn't pick up that day.

I might crab that morning since the low tide is later that evening.. anyone can point out the map, what area to drop the traps, I never gone crabbing there.

Clamming is good there. I usually go further to the back of the island for bigger clams.  My buddy and I went crabbing there once. The current is exteremly strong. I would advise against putting pots anywhere near the mouth of the bay as it will probably get swept away once you let you go.

We're crabbing there a couple times without much success.  We got better lucks inside the bay by Pellican Point.

Got a map pin point by any chance?

Pellican Point is a little South of Hog Island.  See Google's map below:

If you park on the other side of the bay, you can just paddle over to the Doran side and not have to pay the 6 bucks.  The circle on the left is generally where I dig for clams, and the right circle is the easiest place to drop your pots from a kayak.  Good luck!

I'm seeing both Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay in the posts, but I believe Chaeki is going to launch out of Lawson's Landing at the mouth of Tomales Bay! So with that said.....you can crab off the little pier for mostly dungies or I prefer to go straight across and drop pots for a mixture of reds and dungies. Then go dig for clams. If you launch from Miller you have a pretty long paddle to get to the clam beds.

Good luck to you...that area usually gets windy late in the afternoon so be safe...
you are better off crabbing Doran in the morning...

I'm a little confuse too.  He said "Lawson Landing" which is at Tomales Bay but the picture shows Bodega Bay!

I plan on hitting both locations, crab in the morning at bodega or ??? and then at low tide in the afternoon, hit up lawsons landing for clamming.

Can you crab at lawsons?  that would kill 2 birds with one stone.

that might be better, crab off the pier then go clamming at low tide.  I might as well kayak below the pier and be out on the water.

thanks for the insight.. much appreciated.
