I'm re-thinking my trip to Tahoe and going back to the original plan as camping here. I'm up for it might even head here Friday and camp 2 nights.  Looking like a great weekend. Let's make this happen.

Al you must stop this!  All this Amador talk is killing me and I am just recuperating from r-cuff surgery (last Monday the day after the Forebay trip).  If I come I will need help loading the Revo on my truck.  The P-15 is out of the question----no paddling.  I will confirm if the doc says this is a go---have an appointment at 11:30 today.-----Jeff

Awesome  :smt003  Cant wait!!!  What time you heading up Jim?  I'll probably wont make it till 8-9PM on Friday unless I can work something out.  Hope the campground doesn't close up that early! Anyone camp there before?  Not sure if the grounds are close to the water, or if we need to drive over to launch.  Are there other  launch sites too?

I call there today and was going to reserve a spot but she said don't bother since it will probably only be us  :smt044. I plan on heading up in the morning since it is my B-Day weekend so found out the wife has the day off too. Bringing the boys , dogs kayaks, bikes, and tent trailer. Should be hanging out with a fire by the time you guy pull up. No problem letting the dogs swim and they do allow 2 -strokes for those that need that information.

Yeah, we already have a base camp.  I'll be showing up early Friday and just in case I don't catch any fish, I may stay to fish some more on Saturday. See you all there. I'll be bringing some tri tips for Friday night to share.

if you want to camp there you better call them. they often close the front gate to the lake by 6 or 7pm.

the fishing has been pretty tough lately at Amador, might have been the full moon or flat calm water or the fog.........or whatever.
bmb, I think I saw you at Amador recently, you were reeling in a nice fish and it got off right at your yak in the Jackson river arm, I was trolling by in a Gregor.

some of the campsites are close or next to the lake but the banks are steep and they can be slippery when wet and muddy, the lake is almost full and the water is starting to clear a bit.  there is a launch for the campsites so you don't have to drive over and use the main ramp by the lodge/store.  this time of the year you should not have to worry about the rattlesnakes!  I am going in my Gregor on Friday, might go back Saturday in my Hobie.

Im almost wishing I wasn't going to the trinity this weekend!

Last Friday at the cleaning station I was talking to a camper. He said only he and an RV were the only ones there. He had 4 fish for the day and said it was tuff to get them to bite... a lot of fish were cruzing by him on the shore.

These are odd fish indeed. While scooting around the lake keep an eye open for fish nosed up to the banks. Bounce a grub on shore and pop it into the water next to it.
