Planning on skipping the madhouse opening weekend, but hitting the lake for smallies, largemouth, and trout for sure. May find an upgrade for my crappie there too. Two rods, two lures, all those species of fish! My secret lake I am willing to share with my brothers in arms! It is opening day, and hopefully for a Friday, it wont be too crowded.  Planning on a quick limit of trout that they stuff in there right off the bat, then hit the lake for dif bass for my AOTY points.

Im definelty gonna try to make this one! I havnt fish pardee in over a year and i dont kno why, i love that lake. I had the lake record rainbow there @ 14.44 back in 2001 and then it beat 2 weeks later by Cary Coe!  :smt013... If i make it, Im just throwin swimbaits ALL DAY for big smallies and largemouths. They always let a few pros hit the lake a few days before the opener and they come back with Hogs over 5lbs!

State record smallie came from there. Within paddling distance from the launch. Take some craw imitations. River2Sea worked well for us last time. White 1/4 oz roostertail silver blade worked well casting across points for shallow water trout also.

Good info Craig, yeah that place puts out AOTY hogs! I average around 4 pounds with a few 6 pounders there.  Huge LMB too.  Should be a good time guys.

We really wanted to get way back up in the river arm but thats quite a paddle up there from the only launch. Plus the wind was coming from the dam so it would have been a real bitch. The first day we should have been OTW at first light but the inspection dude has to be dealt with. Pretty expensive to camp and launch . Blew me away at the cost of it all. I saw some huge LMB's while crusing across the points in the midday. Over 7-8 pounds easy.

The 18th is coming up pretty quick, I plan on fishing the lake the 18th, then back with my kids on the 19th. Should be a madhouse, but that is fishing in California during an opening weekend.

I might be going one day during the week after it opens.  Haven't made up my mind yet though but will post when it gets closer.
