Who will be diving?

Are you spearing or going for abs or both?

If you are spearing, what is your depth limit?

How long do you normally stay out?

It would be nice if all the divers knew a little bit about each other so we could group up properly.

Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?

I plan on diving for fish and abs...and crab...and scallops...and octopus...and urchin...yeah so I'm pretty much harvesting.  :smt003

If I go, I'll be going with my family so I can't stay out too long, maybe 3-4 hours max.

That area is all new to me so hoping for some local intel.  My depth will be dictated by how I feel and the vis./conditions.

I'll be diving Friday. Haven't dived deeper than 30-35 ft this year. Will spearfish and ab dive.  Was thinking of both diving and trolling for salmon or halibut friday

Same for me but I won't have family so can stay out as long as I want, and I can't dive anywhere as deep as Nate!!

 :smt005

I can get down to 30-35, but am much more comfortable in the 20s!!

 :smt003

Looking forward to it!!

I'll be diving for Abs and spearing fish.  I've never dove the area but I can get down to 30'.  Maybe deeper by May, who knows.  I'll be rolling solo to GS5 or maybe Darell aka "Mabels_Whiskey" will be able to come with me.  Whatever it is, I can stay out as long as I want!  Ab diving, Kayak fishing, Spearfishing....Oh man! Is it May yet!?!?!

The myth continues.  :smt116.  I would prefer to dive in 20' all day rather than having to dive much deeper.

I will be diving Friday and likely likely Sun or Mon for some Ab's.  May try to do some spearing depending on visibility.  I may bring the scuba gear too, to pick up after all the yard sales  :smt010!  just kidding, I want to check out that reef in front of the hotel!

I heard that Nate:

*doesn't need to dive at all, the fish swim to him
*has xray vision.....and gets 50' of vis in 20' of water
*brought a polespear to a gunfight with chuck norris.....nobody knows exactly what happened but Nate continues to post and we haven't heard from Chuck Norris in a long time

That's right!

Don't forget the one about my fish fileting themselves.

...and Chuck cried like a wussy.  :smt003

Diving deep is alot easier when you can see.  Odds are we'll have less than 10' of viz.  Also, since the viz isn't as good up here most of the time it tends to be the case that the best stuff to dive for is shallower.

I've got a 10 inch ab I'm farming near the Cove.  Hopefully it'll be calm and clear enough to go visit it.   :smt004

I enjoy the range of 15 to 30 but love to hang in the shallows looking for the big uns! Eric have you ever launched at Black Sand and paddled a little north? It seems like that could have some nice untouched areas just ripe for the pickings!

I've never launched at Black Sands - it would have to be very flat - that's a dangerous shorebreak.

You're definitely onto something though, Jimbo.  While it's not 'untouched', the area north of the Cove is known for giant abs.  Many 10's have come out of there in powerboats.  I've brought all mine back down the beach in my backpack.
