A few of us are hitting the Port this Sat.
Still some stripes and whatever else will bite around!
I'll arrive in the late am. as I never catch anything until later in the day! :smt044
Others will probably be there earlier.

Sleeping in again huh! :smt044 I pretty sure I'm in for Sat. just have to check with the better half to make sure she doesn't have anything going on. I'm thinking about dusting off the Cobra and possibly bringing that.

Also start thinking about steelhead, the river is going down and water is starting to clear up.

I'm there on the Steelies! Have they stabilized the flows out of Folsom yet?
I heard that flows could fluctuate wildly with no warning. :smt009

A buddy of mine score a 30" 10lb steelie driftin' crawlers down by gristmill.  They're definitely in there, it just requires some work.

I am sooo ready for some steelhead action...

In the meantime, I am strapped for the port.  What time does the early shift want to arrive?  I want to have my stripers on the boat when Novo launches so I can focus on crappie by lunch...  Game clip #3 needs to be broken in.

Erik where do you get your shark clips?

OK, now that makes me want to get out of bed at the crack of noon! :smt044
Seriously, if the weather is a little warmer I'll be out there a bit earlier, let's say 9a?
That's practically o'dark thirty for me! :smt001

Good Luck out there y'all.  Conditions look great for this weekend.  I'm gonna be dreaming of stripers while stuck in L.A. traffic, I'm sure of it.   :smt012

Rob, broadway will get you hooked up. I am getting 4 jumbos, and a dozen medium (for crappie and catfish) Rig up some leaders, about 3-4' with a #1 for the stripers, and then some drop shots, with #8 for the crappie. Bring 1 oz inline sinkers for the striper rigs, and 1/2 or 1/4 oz for the crappie drop shot rigs. Also, if you have a J-9 broken back rapala, have one of them on a spin rod for when the boils happen, and for trolling between areas.  Any crank bait will do, but those work the best for me. FYI, on the fish sniffer, there is rumors of a 53" striper caught and kept recently out of the port!

Dang MtN8v!
That's some good set-up info there!
Plus a rumored 53" stripe - what a whale!
If someone catches that big of a fish they are damn LUCKY!

BTW how will you fish the minnows for kitty's?

Hey Im new to this site and seen this post about the port. I go out there all the time but fish from the bank and have never fished from my kayak. Last week I was out there and seen quite a few kayakers out fishing. I just installed some outriggers on my kayak and was gonna take it out there. I cant get out for 2 more weeks. How often do you guys go out to the port?
