While enjoying the views of my favorite crater,

I noticed a blue flip/flop sandal on the rocky shoreline. Very exciting! When I went to gather it up for the days collection, I realized that it wasn't a flip/flop but a foam seat cushion. It made the Jackson seat even more comfortable and I may be able to use it for another boat project. Also exciting!
Shortly after, I found a plastic grocery basket and had no problem filling it with random trash/recyclables that included a paint can and some dock foam. I was in the zone.
And thats when I saw IT.  I had to work for it but the pay off is well worth the effort.

The Jackson barely notices the load.

And as if that wasn't enough, I found a healthy chunk of dock foam just before I headed home.

Not sure whether to tow another kayak out to get this trophy or make some sort of pool noodle raft to drag it out of the lake. Just might need to be a team event for this one.

The stinking water heater will have to be towed, then rolled up the bank, lifting it from the water will be out of the question.(even for me ) :smt003 -Amos

If you can plumb up something to blow the water out of it, it ought to float a whole bunch better. Maybe even be towable.

Good luck,

Have not forgotten or surrendered the tank. Im just going to have to wait for the next team event at my place for manpower.
"Team event" is a perfect lead into the latest clean sweep of our favorite waters.
We recently celebrated 21 years of Team Bridgeport adventures and there is no better place to celebrate than the creek of our origin.
It was the Kraken who struck first. A can so old that it had a pull off style tab and all of the printing was gone. Im kind of surprised that it was able to get by us until now.

While we were able to retrieve a solid amount of our favorite creek trash, including miles of fishing line and of course flip/flop sandals, there was one item that really stood apart.

The PolarCat recovered a fully stocked bear can from the creek. Opening it was a mistake, but after it was cleaned out, PC came away with a very useful item.
It was a nice "gift" after his relentless effort earlier in the week. PC went after 2 plastic jugs that were held near a strainer formed by fallen trees.

Team effort and energy continued through the entire week.

I just have to thank those anglers who left behind the mile of recovered fishing line, power bait jars and worm styro-containers. Without your help we could not achieve this level of excellence.
Also,  suck it.

Here is one example of a benefit when taking out the lines left by those to busy fishing to be bothered.

Occasionally you score.

After most of team had gone home, Seachumm and I went for a short creek stomp I was able to find a few more of "the favorites".

We had a very successful haul this year with very few regrettable surrenders. I spotted 2 tires that we will be back for, but otherwise, our house is clean.

I went into the bush thinking we had seen a popped ball or something.  As I got closer, I saw that it was some kind of can.  Once I got into the bush and pulled it out, we saw that there were some groceries inside.

I held on and Jedediah Tubbs did some wrangling (proving he is more dexterous then a bear) and got it open.  His reward was a cloud of death smell right in the mouth.  He almost had to take a knee.

What we found inside was kind of interesting.

We found a bag of cookies, a bag of pistachios, a bag of sunflower seeds, and a bag of candy, all unopened.

Had this been the extent, I might have been brave enough to open something and check the quality.

However, Once we started pulling things out, we saw that water had gotten inside and mixed with some pumpkin seeds as well as a ziplock bag of something that probably used to be meat (mouth full of death smell for Tubbs).

Anyway, everything went to the trash.

Selfishly, I claimed the can although it will now belongs to The Team.

A good trip.  Lots of wind but great friends and we always end up with a story when we're done.

Wow! but what should we put in it?  apples? rain? very small rocks?
Maybe dice? or Jalapeño stuffed olives?
Very exciting

It was tough watching Jebidiah T take it that hit. Almost had me gagging too.
So glad I didn't step up to open it.
Thanks JT!
