took my mirage revloution out for the second time to lake del valle ( for the first time ) . i trolled for about 2.5 hrs and caught 6 on a castmaster in blue/chrome and a firetiger rapala brokenback j-7. the fish were on the smaller side but they were spunky and hit readily. id like to come back and bass fish here when it warms up. also next time ill troll a deep diving bomber to try to hook a striper..

Solid work MM!  You were successful at something that many people have been failed terribly at, including myself - catching trout at DV.

Mind sharing what part of the lake you were fishing?  How was the water quality near the launch?

You don't need to wait until the water warms up to catch bass at DV.  I've done fairly well there in the winter.  You just have to fish a bit deeper, say 20-30 feet.

ha interesting. next time ill try some deeper bassing then. im waiting on my depthfinder / gps. and yeah i launched there by the marina and went to the right. i trolled close to the east shore ( they call it the narrows ) toward the damn. water quality was fair . it got better when i found a 'creek' on the right that went back kinda far. it was gin clear then i caught one back in there. other than that i would say fair but the trout didn't seem to mind. where are good bass fishing spots. smallies and/or largemouths?
