Well happy new years!  Went out on new years day to retrieve my pots which I foolishly left out for 9 days due to bad weather.  I only planned on having them out for a day or two...
5-6 foot swell, and 15 knot winds made for a very rough trip in a 9 foot zodiac.  The pots were between south jetty and seal rock, and were incredibly hard to pull up.  My first thoughts were, "Wow, there must be a ton of crab in there!"  Wrong.  The week of bad weather and big swell covered the pots in mud and sand, gluing them to the sea floor.  One pot is still stuck in the mud, and I'll have to dive (on a nice day) and dig it out to retrieve it.  And whats worse, NO CRAB!  The big swell must have been pushing the doors open and letting all the crab out...  Sad day, but lesson learned.
