Had such a good time on monday with the NCKA crew at stillwater, I decided to take the family out today.  Launched at 8am with wife and son on the kayak, got out to the kelp bed, and jumped in.

20feet visibility, which was alot better than monday.  I could see 3-4 rock fish from top.  Went down and shot the first one I saw and SCORE!.. missed a couple after that and then STONED one.  (Headshot)  it was just twitching in mid water, so I grabbed it with both hands and swam up.  Wanted to try to catch my limit for the day, but wife had a unpleasant face. (green face)  She was getting sea sick.  DAMN!!#!@!@

As I pulled into shore, I ran into baitNbeer & Alameda.  They introduced themselves to me, so we had a chitchat.  Nice to meet brothers on a random trip.

Happy New Year!

Very nice. Love the dive board!  What brand is that?  looks like it would be great to swim out on for short trips off shore.

It's a Banks Board, developed by John from NorCal.  Its awesome for abalone diving, spearfishing.  I had it tied to my floatline, and that was going to my speargun.  I didn't notice any drag, it also has a 2 spear gun holders, dive flag holder, and a dry storage.  IT AWESOME.

Website is in development, but you can order direct http://www.banksboard.com

ey bro your pretty good at making videos!

me and geoff did pretty good , we first worked the rocks in around 20 to 25 feet , shot a few fish , got back on the kayaks , rested then went into some deeper waters where we finished the day , i ended up with 7 fish while geoff had his limit , i did score my first speared cabbie which was cool

we hit some pretty deep kelp beds , with my new long fins i was hittin 40 feet which is the deepest i ever dived , not my comfort zone just yet but still felt good given that i started free diving this year , geoff was hittin 45' & picked up a few fish while hunting those depths . pictures and videos coming soon.nice meeting you chaeki!

NOW ITS OFF TO PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

it helps when the viz is 40 feet , its a trip cuz we took turns watching one another dive and looking at geoff at the bottom made him look so small

love my longfins BTW!

lol there was this dude diving off his kayak that forgot his fins , i offerd my short ones to him but he said he didnt need them , he wasnt lieng! he used the kelp to get down deep then pushed off the rocks like a torpedo going up , i was his biggest fan after that!

40ft, dayamn.. I barely do 33ft, then slightly panic.  HAHHAA  dpshim, sorry you couldn't make it, it was so much better this time in visibility, you could see the fish from up top, pick it out and then go down and shoot it.

I was too excited to take the camera.. LOL  But we have to do a group event out there again, it was a nice way to end 12.31 with the family.
