Yeah, Shannon - I couldn't change the title of this little thread after I nuked my old account...   :smt003

If you don't follow along around here you may miss something.  Fair's fair - I'm OK with that aspect of the event.  This event really is based on and populated by NCKA - no two ways.   :smt001

If anyone shows up thinking the event is Saturday, I apologize for your lack of following closely enough, as the regular communication here has documented all the changes along the way.  We'll get out for salmon Saturday, Shannon.   :smt001

Holy Crap,

was I ever asleep at the wheel! Glad my staggering powers of cognition picked up on the anomoly, elst I would have been at the launch Sat. morning thinking I'd beat everyone to the water. Yowza! Well, that gives me(as Eric pointed out)a day to go after the red and silvery salmon, or chase giant abalone, or drink beer, or hang out, or eat food, or golf or......

I wish we can have side bet on the par 3 right next to the campsite. The distance looks like a 9 or a pitching wedge distance. I know Pat (SinCoast) plays I'm not sure who else.

Some of the latest fish and forecast info:

Only 13 or so fish caught yesterday by 15 boats after Saturday's bonanza.

Friday (10-15 knot winds / 8' swell) should be fishable and maybe a bit bumpy.
Saturday should be similar with the swell dropping to 6' or so in the afternoon.
Sunday looking significantly flatter, and we'll hope the wind stays down.
Monday could be the flattest day - dawn patrol rockpickers aim for this.

The fish are starting to get nervous!   :smt003

Here's a quote from a guy on Humboldt Tuna Club when I mentioned that we'll have 93 people paddling out of the Cove the morning of the 15th:

"93 kayakers and Salmon that hot...I wish I could see the antics at the ramp..some people ain't gonna be happy.."

Let's prove him wrong!   :smt012

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT LAUNCHING AND LANDING:

Last year someone gave advice to land about 100 yards east of the breakwater - BAD IDEA!  Small breakers come in there, whereas up tight to the inner side of the breakwater is the safest place to come in and go out.  This also means that the powerboats go in and out right there, so we all need to be cognizant of transitting through that area quickly and efficiently.

I know that dude, he had his camera ready looking for some good action to post up.

Therefore, good idea if you want to entertain your brothers on the beach!
