The ever elusive but always Fabulous Lead Bomber and I are splashing yaks Thursday AM 12-23-10. We will be holding a Trout Clinic. PM me for hookup info. I am sure your boss/GF/wife will understand.

Whats been working well top lined 30-50' back. Also learned last time its more fun paddling up to a jumper and casting one at it. Gobbled them up.

I also gave the grubs a try last time. Got some good ones, but didn't produce like the above stuff.

I am seeing Thomas Bouyants and kastmasters there. Might want to try a couple split shot or a sliding sinker about a needle fish or apex to get those lures down in the 6-8 ft depth range.

Will any of these work?  :smt008 This is my Melones trolling box. Obvious fan of needle fish.

Thats about just like what my trout box is starting to looks like. Besides the lack of grubs... you anti grubs? :) I haven't tried needle fish yet... but I have them and will now. Ive been thinking bout phobe's too. Flat fish, super dupers, criplures, spinners worked too but not like the others. Figuring out whats most consistent is a lot of fun for me... so far it has been the thomas bouyants and kastmasters.

Definately not anti grub. I just have a seperate grub box. Grubs can work great after a period of run off up the river arm and angels creek.

Bouyants and kats are a lot heavy per size so I am think that you might have similiar luck if you put just a bit of weight on your lighter spooners to get them down deeper.

Don't forget gold Kastmasters!  I have had at least five 50-60 fish days this last summer at a high Sierra lake using gold Kasmasters.  I will be splashing my yak at Amador first light tomorrow.  good luck you guys.

I'm suprised that my flasher or ford fenders with the night crawler tracer hasn't been very productive.  Sure is fun using metal and very easy that's for sure.

See you boys next week at the lake or beyond....
