Darn I miss getting out when the weather is bad. Looks like Friday may be the best bet besides Sunday according to the weather forecasts for me to head over. Might come over on Thursday. Anyone ever crab in the afternoon or do the winds pick up too much? Might want to try Thursday afternoon.? Hang around, maybe head over to Lost Coast Brewery Thursday Night. Crab Friday morning. Anyone been crabbing lately?  299 was requiring chains last night which stops me pulling my kayak trailer. :smt006

Two of my sons and I are packing up now. We are driving over and will hang around town tonight. Looks like tomorrow morning (according to the weather sites) is ok; however, 10-12 mph winds... I am hoping that does not pick up until the afternoon along with the rain. Hope to see some of you out there. I will be in the back of a OC Malibu 2XL w/ my 12 year old, Sam and my 17 year old, Mitch, will be in a blue Hobie Quest. Happy crabbing!  :smt006

DrDave,
What time are you planning on launching, weather permitting?

Last check in before jumping in the car. Sunrise is around 7:30... hopefully, we will be there around that time. Hope to see you there... always safer in numbers.

It's 12:45pm and I still have at least an hour on my project. Looks like I will miss joining all today.  How was it?!

Southeast wind, yep. Cold, yep. Small confused seas, yep. Storm on the way, yep. Crabs nope. Between 6 of us, maybe 10 crab. I left 2 pots for an overnight soak. We shall see what the morning brings.

not productive crabbing at all  :smt011. I was on the water at 7 off by 9 with only 4 crab. Only 1 jumbo for me today the other 3 just average.

No question the crab count was low, but on the bright side I enjoyed a several hour tour of some of the rock gardens to the south.

It looks like pot roast instead of crab for New Years ..... but it was a great day to be alive and on the water !
