I bought my 2011 fishing license online today.  I think this was the first day 2011 licenses have been available.  The process works fairly well but it could be a little more friendly.  Since this is the first year for the automated process, all applications are handled as new regardless of how many California fishing licenses you have purchased in the past. There appears to be a bug in the cell where you enter your weight. The cell would only accept 2 digits.  I was able to fix it with the edit function in the check out area.  The check out screens are kind of weird and unlike those used by most online retailers.  I wonder why the State didn't just contract with Amazon or some other online retailer, rather than try and reinvent online purchasing.  According to the info provided my license will arrive by mail in about 15 days.  There's an option to print a temporary license if needed.  I would rate the process at about 5 on a 1-10 scale.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.
