In the last three years (don't know the facts about previous years) a lot of handshakes, PM congratulations, and hugs were given out well before the New Years bells were ringing...hopefully that will be the same this year.

Yeah ... congrats Craig for taking first and Bird for the close second.  I can't believe you passed the Leepins like that.

I guess I better hurry and cash in those points. :smt005 :smt005 Just kidding folks.
I'm done for the rest of the year. Company has me working all the Saturdays till the
year is over. I was shooting for the tenth place again but it looks like it will not happen this year.

How come the AOTY standing is not up-to-date?  :smt003

But what happens if you hook the fish at 11:58 on 12/31 but don't land it until 00:10 on 1

You sure you want to impose a Saturday Jan 1 entry deadline?

Cal Code Civ Proc § 13 ("Certain acts not to be done on holidays") provides:

"Whenever any act of a secular nature, other than a work of necessity or mercy, is appointed by law or contract to be performed upon a particular day, which days falls upon a holiday, such act may be performed upon the next business day with the same effect as if it had been performed upon the day appointed."

Gov. Code § 6700 ("Days that are holidays") establishes Jan. 1 and all Saturdays as "holidays".

Submitting a final AOTY entry is an "act of a secular nature" and is probably not "a work of necessity or mercy" (unless you ask EWB :smt005).  The deadline to perform that act falls on January 1st, a Saturday which also happens to be a holiday.

Just sayin...     :smt044
