I have spent far too much time researching the differnt methods to seal the FF cable and I plan on making the move this weekend.
I am leaning towards the nifty black wire seal from West Marine many are using.
My question: can you loosen it up such that you can push the cable back in to the point where you don't have several inches of cable flopping around during transport? If not, do you secure it down some other way?

Thanks!

Yes... you can simply loosen the nut which will open the iris up a little and you can push your cable in, then re-tighten the nut to clamp down on the cable again. On my Fisheasy 240, the connector on my cable is small enough that I can push it all the way through the iris and  into my hull if I want to.

I just coil up the "pigtail" and rubber band it during transport.

KZ....that is exactly what I wanted to know!!!! I bought the Cuda 240 so I hope I will also be able to push it through should the need arise.
Thanks to both of you. :smt040
