Anyone planning to head to Trinidad this weekend for crabbing? Now that my cold is gone, I see the weather may not be cooperating for Saturday. Any thoughts? I will be driving over 299 from the Redding area, if the snow does not stop me.  :smt006

The camera is very cool. Looks like there were lots of boats out there today around the rock. Weather calls for 90/100% rain at Trinidad tomorrow. Looks like this may not be the year for me. Sunday calls for 20/30%... not sure I want to drive over to the coast for a one day deal. One can only dream...

Checking NWS activity planner shows the winds decreasing in the PM Saturday, with the rain also decreasing late. Afternoon Saturday and Sunday are looking ok if your ok with a little bump and possible dampness. Your call as to the drive, and even though Rfox says the crab are not jumping in your boat, they are still down there waiting. PM with a phone # if you want. Saturday is good, Sunday is work with no chance for me getting out. I can add 2 pots and 3 rings to the arsenal, that ought to find some crabby for you to take home.

I just drove over from redding, stated raining in Weaverville and rained over the passes.  Overnight is supposed to be a different story with snow to 2000'.

I'll be out tomorrow and Sunday if the weather isn't horrid.  Need to stock up before commercial season starts.

Go get em guys! Wish i could join you, but I got inlaws in town for the weekend  :smt011. And Kent's right the crab are still there. Sorry if i made it sound like a wasteland, still plenty of good crab left. It will get slim once commercial opens though

Higway 299 was not the best this morning (chains required... I trailer my yaks) so I decided to skip the road trip and now there are no restrictions and is good to go... heck I should of just gone. Just can't stand it! I am heading over this afternoon, eat somewhere local (maybe the Cookhouse...still open?) and will be on the water for the first time Sunday morn!  :smt006

I made it out at 2 until 3:30. The swell is moderate, little wind, rain, sun. Pulled 8 keepers split between the rings and pots. Good luck sunday, hope it clears up like the weather service says it will.
