This video is from Harrison at Mad River Outfitters.

The lights-out salmon fishing on the Eel has been crazy for the past week or two.

Much of this is Eel River.  Put your seatbelt on....   :smt003

Wow.  Incredible.  Thanks for posting that Eric.  I've got a couple questions after watching that, that hopefully someone can answer.  What do you think the specs are on the rods they are using?  I guess I just dont understand the whole drift boat thing.  Are these guys anchored up letting their lures "work" in the current?  Do people do what they were doing on Kayaks, or is that a drift boat thing?  Thanks again for posting that, seatbelt definitely required. Those shots of the rods loading up were intense!

I've fished that way with a Kwikfish, paddling into the current and slowly drifting downstream.  I've never hooked up on a Kwikfish, but I have hooked up steelies back trolling Wee-Wart or Brad's - they're little plugs that you run in current.  It's a fun way to fish because you are always moving and working.

Yep, Paul, it's C&R only.

And be sure to never lift a listed fish out of the water!   :smt005
