Nothing wrong with giving out the info. Either on the radio or cell phone or word of mouth. Selfishness is keeping all the goodies to yourself and close ties when we all could be having fun. A newbie asks for help. Selfishness is not giving it to him or her. Enough said . This thread is about a positive fishing experience. Lets keep it there.

I recognized that squid boat Jim. It's the same one that
circled Mooch while he was fighting his fish. That squid
boat literally crossed Mooches line. He was being $I@k
that day too.

Some of you guys are way too dramatic. Get over yourselves, stop playing the martyr, and enjoy your time spent fishing. (Like Jeff Kent to Ralph Barbieri "Enjoy the game more!")

Radio chatter is nothing.

I'd generally agree with this...I usually just stay tuned to 16 and leave the beauty parlor chat to the ladies.  It can be a decent source of entertainment when the fishing is slow though.

I would like to point out that using a VHF to communicate from land is illegal, so there is something wrong with it.

If we don't start reporting these incidents then there will be no official records of these "close calls" - especially to the repeat offender. I suggest using a camera or a cell phone and use it to "film" rather than take a picture. Ignoring the behavior of that particular boat will not solve the problem. Nuff said.

Martyr huh? This from the Guy who posted up "those that don't know tell, those that know don't" and then karma came along. Sorry you don't enjoy the drama and it's related after fishing bs'ing. :smt002

Maybe I'm the only one who is tired of hearing the same whiny BS over and over?
Those purse seiners treat every boat out there the same way--like they're in the way. It's not just kayakers; they pull the same jerkoff maneuvers on 15' Whalers and 28' Raydons. That's what I mean by martyr.
I've got plenty of love for you two. I like everybody--I'm naive like that. But what I don't love is whiny complaint-filled drama and bad attitudes. And there seems to be a lot of that lately. See, this very post (of mine) meets that exact criteria. So I'll shutup now.
And Jim the quote was "Those who know, don't tell. Those who tell, don't know." It's from an old local cable show called Fishmasters. It aired at 1am on KSBW on Saturday nights. It was pretty goofy, just like that quote.

I was fishing that day, and watched a scout boat zig zag towards me, looking for squid.  He got close but not excessively so and smiled and waved.  Also ran into a yakker later in the day who said the scout boats told him they were going to be setting the nets soon.  He felt it was nice to be warned.  I'm starting to sound like a Rodney King groupie, 'Can't we all just get along?"  :smt003

Nice meeting you on the water ravensblack.

oh and could it be the seabass are just full and fing with us?

E2G, it was great meeting you also. All along I had a damn sabiki in my tackle and forgot about it. Damn it. That would have been fun when it got slow. I learned a lot down there in one day...... Actually watching the squidders work was kind of interesting. Especially the big dark one. I also heard some loud bangs. Seal bombs? Right on Chuck. I really didnt think anyone was whining on this post. Just stating facts. Love you too Pat. :smt044 :smt044 :smt006

Looks like you got treated to a spectacular day OTW.

Judging from what I read here, compared to some other reports, seems like yesterday most people were pretty courteous to each other (well for the most part),

Just curious, anybody think that might be from the fallout from some of the early incidents, sometimes people clean up their act after someone starts talking about it, just to avoid hassels down the road.  From the amount of traffic on the net, I imagine there was allot of word of mouth talk about it as well, I believe the guilty parties probably heard it too. Maybe it made just a little difference,

Just thinking out loud,

Again some spectacular pics here.
