My buddies are heading up for our annual ab dive that has been going on for the past 28yrs.  I have probably been a part of for the last 18 since I didn't move to CA till 89 right before the quake( wasn't that on the first game of the World Series? kinda like today....). We plan on camping and Salt Point campground on the Gerstle side so if anyone wants to join us feel free to come on up. Hopefully the conditions flatten out for the weekend ,no kayak fishing but might put some crab traps out and spear some fishing. We'll be having a great time and eating and drinking a lot either way.

I'll be there Sunday AM for sure, and if I play my cards right may be able to make it up Saturday to dive in the PM and spend the night!

Will most likely have several non-yakking buddies with me hoping to GET SOME!

 :smt003

Jimbo, is it obvious where the SaltPoint Campground is so I can find you??

Thanks for posting the hookup and am looking forward to seeing you up there!

Jim

I put a post on hookups for 3rd-5th. Work just called and they are going to try to send me to a school during those days. I will have the weekend off if they send me to the school. I will either be up there 3-5th or night of the 5th-7th depending on what work does with me. I did some diving this summer but I haven't dove with the NCKA brothers since GMS IV.

I don't mind getting a beating from the wind waves. It's the swell that I hate.

I kinda like the surge that comes along with the swell, helps me cover more ground with minimal effort.  Wind swell is a pita though.

It's looking Swell!  :smt044  Not sure on the diving conditions though. It might be a little rough out there so probably might not even get in the water unless things settle down. I'm sure of few of those guys will try to find some place to get abs but I won't dive in rough conditions. Not worth it. I should have dove last weekend but ended up concentrating on lings and it was a good thing I did! We still have a few more weekend to get out if this one gets blown out. I sent the invite but not sure on how much ab there will to be eaten.  :smt009

No worries Jimbo....if it is looking rough and swelly may just stop somewhere more sheltered and try and get some...got 5 tags left and 2 days free between now and 11/30 (11/7 and 11/27), so if I can find a spot sheltered enough I am gonna check it out!!

Jim

Maybe not gonna be so bad??

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=38.56346871754053&lon=-123.32505226135254&site=mtr&smap=1&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=marine

Saturday: NW wind 5 to 9 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the morning. A slight chance of rain. Mixed swell...W 6 ft and S 1 ft. Wind waves 1 to 2 ft.

Sunday: SSE wind 7 to 10 kt becoming NW in the afternoon. A chance of rain. Mixed swell...W 5 ft and S 1 ft. Wind waves around 2 ft.

Will keep an eye on it for sure and make a decision Saturday night about where to go...I would think the Fort or TC would be doable if that forecast holds??

Think Sledge is gonna roll out and meet us up there too??!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim
