I was warned in this very Forum and I was still stupid.

Got a call from a company in Arizona that warned me someone was trying to make a $3,500 purchase on my debit account and have it shipped to Chicago. Turdhead even had the code from the back of the card so he had held my card. I was lucky, the company declined the purchase and warned me and I cancelled the card with no other charges. Only 30 minutes and I'm golden with no losses.

Because of the way I use my card, I actually know where I got nicked. A Carl's Junior in Salt Lake is the only place the card has left my hand or sight. The attempted charge was the same day. My Bro says we should go have a pillow case party on the clerks ass. To add insult to injury, I got the screamers from the $6 Burger. Man, F#*K Carl's Junior.    :smt002

Same thing just happened to me on Friday.

I got a call from Well's Fargo asking me to call their fraud hotline.

Turns out some POS had my card number and was trying to figure out the three digit security code by making repeated attempts to order movies through Netflix. After six unsuccessful attempts Well's Fargo put a hold on my card and notified me. Other purchase attemps included something like fragrances.com and a $900 purchase from Best Buy.

Not saying it's the right thing to do, but if I was in Kayote's shoes and knew who tried to do this I would DEFINITELY wait for the MFer to get off work and...

three's a crowd?

Got the call from WF last week too.  They did the same netflix testing then went for the big buy at macy's which was declined. The charges were in TN and OH.  Luckily WF put a hold on my card right away.

Dude!!! Same thing happened to me LAST WEEK!!!!  Except the no good low life scum bag tried to charge $1.71 to test out the card to see if worked.  When it worked, they tried to buy something for $445 but BofA caught it and froze my account.  If I knew where the scum bag was, justice would be brought swift and severly.  NOTHING worse than a thief!

Editing post because I just heard on the news about a huge rash of these credit card jackings. Apparantly people have been hacking gas station pumps and inserting some kind of card reader into the pumps. The guy I talked to from WF even mentioned that.

Still crazy that there is at least four of us from this site affected, though.

Thats what the guy at BofA told me.  It was probably a gas station.  Never use a debt card at a gas station, credit or cash.  :smt021

News had a story about a ring of guys getting popped while visiting their gas pumps a couple weeks back.  Its only certain pumps that they can install the card readers on but the damn news station wouldn't show which pumps to avoid.
