No kidding!  I'm starting to think the torture mantra doesn't even come close to explaining these games.  NOTHING comes easy for these guys.

No kidding!  I was literally praying that he wouldn't put the leadoff man on in the 9th.

And he definitely marches to the beat of his own drum.  I think he's a few french fries short of a happy meal.

I dunno, it's starting to become worse than torture - if that's even possible.

So, do you think it's wrong to try and explain baseball theory to my wife? Or just let it go and bask in the glow of having her actually sit down and watch a game with me? Trying to explain a double switch was f'n brutal.  :smt013

No doubt!  Good on you for even trying.

And my mother-in-law says there is more strategy in the American League.  Yeah right.

If it wasn't the playoffs, Halliday would have been tossed for talking back to the umpire.

Pure torture.  Thank you sir may I have another!   Incredible baseball.

I loved the shots of the Phillies fans in the 9th inning chewing on their towels, heads in hand, sweating it out - don't remember if if was the Fox announcers or our local post-game sports show, but when those pics showed the commentator saying - "Welcome to our world".

The Phillies fans whistling-catcalls to Lincecum was great.  I liked how he smiled and then in the post-game interview said "I must have a nice ass".  In other words - "kiss my arse"!  Classic!

Mays, McCovey, Ross!

Wilson=heart attack.

Love the way this team does it.  While I believe, as a life-long G-fan, the Giants have broken my heart more times than a girlfriend with daddy issues.  But maybe this year!

Great stuff.  Go Sanchez!

Go Giants!

Would have loved to gone 2-0 on the road but have to be happy winning one.

My 2-cents on last night.  Giants lack of offense is their big flaw and they couldn't generate offense again. Most disappointing to me though was that they had the Phillies really sweating it after game 1, and the Phillies were looking at it like a must win.  So the Giants had the mental edge and needed to come out and put some immediate pressure on the Phillies so they would be sweating it even more.  Instead, the G-men came out and immediately gave away the mental edge on both offense and defense in the first inning. First batter, Torres swings at several pitches out of the strike zone to gift wrap a strikeout for Oswalt that also gets the fans jacked up.  If he had been more selective he might have walked to start the game and put immediate pressure on Oswalt.  Instead, Oswalt gets some confidence and settles in to pitch a strong game. Then, bottom of the first, the Giants give the Phils a gift wrapped run through an error by Fontenot and  3 walks from Sanchez before he calmed down. Given the Giants offense, they can't afford to give away any runs.  So, I was frustrated that they spotted the Phils a run and gave away the mental edge they had right from the start of the game. But that's baseball, now the series comes to SF!!!
Go Giants!

Watching the Giants in the playoffs  is like having a tooth filled at the dentist.

I wish Kruper and Kuiper were covering the game then it wouldn't be as bad.

In a perfect world fans should be able to listen to their usual local announcers for the post season , like on the computer or sap.
