Checking out the many kayaks they offer and see the Tarpon 160 is $535., OK Trident 13' Fishing is $544., Trident 15' Fishing is $624., Prowler 13' Angler (my all time fav fishing yak) is $469., and the tried and true workhorse yak, Scrambler XT 12' at $354. All of these are 2nds/blems but it's almost impossible to spot any color flaws or imperfections. Shipping to your door runs $125. and I received mine in 3 days, and no sales tax.  :smt002

That said, if any of our local dealers are somewhat close in price, I fully support buying from them when you will probably get a chance to demo paddle, support a local shop/employees, probable discount on additional items, and service in case of a problem

They're marked down 25% but I think the deal is you get another 25% off if you signup for their email newsletter. Depending on your gas mileage, it m/b cheaper to pickup in Reno than ship for $125. http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,3002N_Wilderness-Systems-Tarpon-160-Recreational-Kayak-16-Sit-on-Top.html

Some good deals on dive suits too!

And supposedly limited to new customers. However, I did not provide my email address to see which items are eligible because the statement on the home page said 35 to 70 percent off on SELECTED items.

I stopped by Sunrise Mountain Sports in Livermore yesterday to pick the new OK rod pod w/c was 25% off and came out to $75 (they only had one).

All their OK fishing models are on sale for 20% off. I think the Wilderness Systems are also on sale. First class customer service and they provided yaks at the HOW event. Lets give them our business.

To get the further discounts, sign up for their email deals and then click the link. Nephew just called their c/s department and they gave him the sales discount on some Asolo hiking boots (about half of what REI runs).
About 2 months ago, I bought the Perception Search 15' and of all the kayaks I have owner or paddled, it's definitely my favorite (see my earlier post on it). Recently took it on a 3 day camping trip on Loon Lake and loaded down with probably 80lbs or more of gear and my weight at 210, and coming back (heading West to launch) into the late afternoon winds this yak performed well in wind and whitecaps. It's weight is double edged: makes it track and glide very well, but pain in the rear to lift/carry.

Heads up...the Sierra Trading Post 50% off sale is on today!!! If you have signed up for their email deals, you should have the email and link. If not, try calling c/s and tell them you did not get it. A friend called their c/s department and got the deal without the email. Lots of kayaks (and other gear to choose from). :smt006
