I'm pretty sure they didn't need to be told and were banking on the fact that it would happen.

The people driving the closures (not the DFG BTW)

A. Knew it would happen
B. Wanted it to happen
C. Knew it would create additional closures.
D. That's why telling them it would happen made no impact.

As far as the Ft goes, it's way to soon for the current closure plans to have been prompted by the MLPA closures, this is the first season with the closures in effect, so there isn't even any post closure harvest data available.
