One day makes all the difference.

Red Barn Alan and I took his Zodiac out Saturday after looking at the FAC conditions.
Haven't done SCUBA for 7 years so it was good to have great conditions. Still need to work out all the bugs but it was a good time.
Saw Spike as we were headed out. He said he lost what may have been his biggest ling ever. Broke him off.
Alan managed to shoot a 14.14 lb ling.
The next day was completely opposite of the day before. I ended up diving OC for some abs. The viz...well...there wasn't any. This was my first time ever ab diving I tried to get a limit and didn't. I got 2 and popped 2 rocks thinking they were abs. That's how crummy the viz was.
It was nice to spend a fair amount of time under water. But I sure wanted to suck in some air while ab diving the next day.

The day after RBC was like that....3-4 feet of vis on the surface, 1-2 on the bottom.  Norcal braille diving at its finest.

do you have any pictures of the rocks?  did you make stone soup out of them?

 

Hey Tote it was great meeting you at OC at the randy Fry event ! one of these days we will have to hook up and do some diving either scuba or free we can go off my zodi ! for sure next year ! oh and let your buddy Alan know his picture with the ling will be up on abalone ten ling page shortly here is a link to it and the trophy page enjoy guys

Tote U crack me up...freaking rocks...   now that would of been better than the day before story....got here that one in person...you've got a way with words...OC eh...I'm sure the viz was just like timber cove right down the road...I didn't even get wet...BigJ was trying to get me to commit...but what can I say...need some viz...brail abbing is not my way...LOL...
