Hi im looking at geting my first fishing yak and stuck between trident 13 with rodpod and the x factor with optional gator hatch. i wheigh 230 and 6feet tall and wont to take one of my kids at times without getting a tandem my oldest kid weighs about 60pounds.All advice and recommendations much appreciated thank.

between you and your kid, you will put a lot of water in the cockpit of the trident.  X factor with gator seat sounds like a better choice.

The X is really really stable, and I've had a 100 pound kid fishing with me on the Gator Hatch in the ocean - no problem.  I'm 6' / 200# and take lots of gear.
