Hi guys..
so I think the consensus is that we need another go at the salmon in benicia..

I think hobiedave, sailfish, bennetdanville, crocketeer are all in consideration...

more the merrier as we need to coral these salmon..

dave thinks 530-6am for the meet time but I for one know I will need to show a bit later that morning..
I think the thought will be to work beyond shorecasters range of Dillion Pt or to troll in the general vicinity like over to Glen Cove..
ch 69 as always.

fur balls be damned.
dave

Do you remember what time they open the gate at benicia State Park?  I want to be at the prime spot before the bankies get in the park.

need a close in trip as that drive down to monterey really zaps me and needs a full day..

sonny.. I want to say that the park opens at 7 but not sure...not  matter what we will have to anchor/ fish beyond their range I guess.

I'm needing the OTW bigtime, sure hope I don't have to bail. Going to be meeting mom's home care nurse for the first time soon. If it is Tuesday, and I'm unable to get younger brother to take FLMA and represent, it will be regrets to the crew.
Sam-yakk, pleased to hear them scrappy fighting silvers are in this area of this planet. Older brother up in Washington just returned with limits to 15lbs. Next best eating after kings, sockeye are tops.

9th Street at 7:00?   As soon as one of you "local" guys determines the right time; let me know.  Where can I get the "local" spinner?  Is the bait shop that sells the spinners near the launch?

Thanks,
 Martin

martin...you might have best best Googling beneica bait shopp..I went there following dave after leaving the 1st street pier...but it is very close to the 9th street launch where we are meeting tomorrow..

most likely I will bill late in showing so I will meet you on the water..
in fact I may be a super late morning start if I miss my flight from LAX-SFO tonight and forced to fly in tuesday morning.. I am keeping fingers crossed that I do not encounter any delays.

the green spinner is sold on the counter for around $4..I think besides the color the best attribute is that it has a heavy body to enable a shore caster greater casting range...so from a yak perspective it may not be that critcial.

9th street boat launch is to the right (not pictured here)..

local scoop is that the salmon will frequent the deeper water where the green marker in the pic is on the INCOMING tide .(see under "p" in dillion pt..... deep channel right off point....then swing over to the shallows ie southhampton bay during slack tide..

again..this is from a shore guy regular so not sure of its validiity..
high tide will be at 621am 3.7ft....

so I am figuring on trolling southhampton bay then perhaps Glen Cove by 10 am as the low will be at 1051 am...
if it get windy I may just anchor out of shore caster range and work the spinners but I hope we can mark them with the FF so we  can increase our odds vs casting blindly.

Benicia bait shop is open at 5:30am.  From the freeway 780 going toward Vallejo, take South Hampton exit, make a let turn at the light, go straight pass the next light (there's a Taco Bell at the intersection), make a left at the stop sign (dead end).  The bait shop is about 100 yard on your right.
