Usually like getting an early start, but gotta work until noon in Watsonville.

Planning on heading straight from work to the H20....should be at the beach by 1ish.

Thinking about a little cove not too far from Coral St...PM me if interested and we can sort out exact location, details etc...

I would actually be up for diving anywhere (Coral, MBK etc)....just really want to get in the water!

 :smt004

Gonna leave the yak at home and just go out on the boogie board.

Company welcome!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Jim, I'll be meeting you out there at 1pm. Ryan (LingKing) will be out there as well to hang out and do some fishing from the rocks. Can't wait to get wet and experience the underworld!! :D

Let's say that the visibility was so poor that I was pretty damn terrified to go to the bottom in my first diving outing lol!! However, I had such a blast experiencing the underworld that I can't wait to go again when visibility is much better :D

Btw, thank you for allowing me to use your stuff. That is so gracious of you, I owe ya brother!

Jim, thank you for the invite, I had such a blast! Hope to join you, Porky, and Andy soon for another dive :D let's do it!!

What was the visibility in feet?  Just wondering because I am headed to MBK this morning sunday to kayak with the family, was planning to freedive and just shoot stuff underwater with the camera. (this time, bringing my spear gun... just in case)

Between 2 and 8...max 8 I'd say cuz I never could quite see the tips of my fins!!  :smt009

In shallower and later on when the tide was going out I couldn't even see the tip of my speargun!!!

Had a great time though and worked hard hoping to find a holed up beast...found some NICE holes that I KNOW are home to some big fish, but nobody was home...could have been sitting right next to the hole watching me and I wouldn't have been able to see them!!   :smt005

I saw what at first I thought was a Ling with it's head and fins out of a hole, and was about to shoot, then realized the fins were rounded and the head shape and eyes were off....it was a shark! Didn't think it was a Leopard, but it had a spotty pattern so I am now thinking it was??? Anyway, too pretty to shoot!!

Daniel, you did great for your first time out there...bummed that the viz sucked ass, but if you can have fun in that, just wait till you can actually see stuff!!  :smt007 :smt003

Despite diving in what looked like Frappuccino, I had a great time!!

Let's go again next weekend!!!!
 :smt006
Sincerely,

Jim

Glad you had a great first dive, dpshim. I took a look out there today and the swell was HUGE! Didn't even get in the water. Viz didn't seem too good either.
